Belle and Sebastian love to run

Belle and Sebastian- one of my favourite bands love to run too, well at least one of them does, Stuart Murdoch. Stuart has run marathons and runs in a few of the band's videos.  I'm a Cuckoo sees Stuart running around Glasgow, awkwardly bumping into people and picking up snacks from passers by on the way. In interviews, such as this one from About Entertainment Stuart describes how running helps him work out arrangements for songs and inspires his song writing. I think running is a very rhymical activity, listening to music really helps my movement, probably through distracting my brain from the impact of the run but also making my body move more fluidly. I haven't updated my running playlist for a long time but it has a lot of fast beat music which encourages me to run faster, that I would normally only listen to when running. The playlist includes a mixture of The Avalanches, Haim, Devo, Daft Punk, Sugar Hill Gang and The B52s, (actually, I do listen to the B52's at other times as well.) Oh and sometimes Electronic Renaissance by Belle and Sebastian features as it is very fast and has a good tempo to run to, Running is inspiring, for me it gives me time to not think creatively and just focus on the run, when I return energised and clear headed and I'm able to focus better on my creative tasks. There should be more time for exercise in people's lives, it brings such positivity to mine.
